In recent years, the overall energy demand of information and communication technologies has continued to increase, despite ongoing technical progress. In view of global efforts to lower CO₂ emissions, this trend highlights a crucial challenge: developing electronic systems that prioritize the efficient use of resources. This calls for a comprehensive consideration of the entire value chain of electronic products, including production processes and supply chains. In collaboration with the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD), Fraunhofer IPMS is dedicated to advancing this mission of resource-efficient innovation.
